Hi,

Is there a way to copy one's current position (GPS coordinates) from BCN and paste them into another application?

Last time I went camping in the desert, I wanted to email a fried my location, but I couldn't find a way to copy and paste the coordinates into an email.  My fortunately brought a pen and paper with.  In the year 2008, however, one shouldn't have to resort to such old fashioned technology.

Can I copy my location from BCN and paste it into an email somehow?  If not, can this capability be added to a future version?

Actually, there’s a lot to be said for a thin floppy lightweight disposable high contrast renewable organics-based visually-readable medium (paper), particularly when combined with one of the many devices that can update the display (pen, pencil, crayon, burnt match, etc). I doubt we’ll ever get rid of  pen and paper. For flexibility and cross-platform compatibility it’s hard to beat, when your data set is fairly small.

That said, there are several ways I can think of to copy out a coordinate set from BCN. The simplest, assuming both BCN and your email are running on the same platform (handheld or desktop), is click on the List button, choose waypoints from the drop down, select your desired waypoint, click edit, and copy lat and long into your email with windows control keys (ctrl+C to copy, ctrl+V to paste).

If not on the same platform, the best way is probably to download a .GPX file and open it in windows notepad or any other text editor, and copy from there.
