Some adventuresome users are needed to test the install for BackCountry Navigator Desktop Edition. Read more about it here:
http://www.backcountrynavigator.com/content/view/82/1/

A version that installs on a Windows PC is available now from the Downloads page. Please verify that it installs and runs on your computer.

For now, participation is suggested for those who are already using BackCountry Navigator mobile edition, but there is no way of enforcing this.

Note that you are not yet required to try out any features after installing, but most of you will anyway.  Smiley

Hi Nathan

Install successful!  I can connect to two different bluetooth receivers I use with streets and trips.  I also downloaded a new map of my home area.

Love It!

The only problem I am having is accessing some of the larger maps from my SD Card.  I will try some other maps, I am doing a copy and paste, is there a better way?  Also is there any way to direct where on the pc new maps are stored, rather than my documents?

Yes, as far as I know, the Save As dialog that you see when you create a new file should work as it usually does in Windows; you can choose another directory by using the buttons or the drop down menu on the top.

If you have a card reader, I believe the copy will go faster than if you go over ActiveSync.

Sometimes I am really slow.  Thanks Nathan.  I will now try to copy the map I am having a problem with using the card reader and see if that gets rid of the error message.

Fantastic!!!

I deleted from my pc the map I was having a problem with, and did a new copy from my SD card.  I used activesync again but no problem this time.

I love this.  I am now going to plan a hike using waypoints and copy it to the SD card.

Thank You    Thank You

That's easy. The one the GPS is connected to.  Wink

Is it a bluetooth GPS? If it is "pared" you might pick it up on autodetection.

This direct link might help:

If so, I will post it out on the download page.

Oh, is that all? Cool

Apparently, the desktop needs higher numbered ports than the Pocket PC did. This may just be easy enough to fix.

Works great on vista.  Now I am working on getting vista to recognize my garmin.
Is there anyway to merge map data from two different db3 files?
Are was able to purchase now?
