I have no allegiance to Backcountry Navigator, except it is a great product.

I was lucky and somehow stumbled unto this software a couple of years ago. But if I was starting out now in GPS, the noise caused by the big dogs in GPS would probably drown out information about products such Backcountry Navigator.

Two cases in point.
How did Backcountry Navigator not win, let alone get any coverage, in PocketPC magazine's annual software awards?
It makes one wonder if these awards are biased.

I have also noticed the limited coverage PDA/GPS setups get in places like geocaching.com.  Mention PDAs for mapping and there seems to an immediate reaction to stifle comparisons about stand alone units and PDAs.

What bothers me about all this is that innovators like Nathan are not rewarded and consumers are short changed.

So we'll all exercise our voices a little more. BCN definitely deserves more recognition. Using a PDA is a great way to nav or track with a GPS, not only because the PDA can be useful (to some) in many other ways, as well.

I have checked out other packages, but I have found BCN to be better for the task in a number of ways. Plus, Nathan's accessibility, response to issues, and the growth in features makes the decision to buy here much easier. Functionality and support are the two points that make or break a purchase.

So I've purchased both PC and Pocket PC versions.

Ok guys and girls, how do we solve this problem with BackCountry Navigator?? Well, since BCN is sold through Handango.com under the GPS software. A lot more reviews could be written. I myself didnt write one because I have trouble just writing. Get those positive reviews out. And if there are any negative ones go for it. Those negative reviews only help Nathan fix problems that we havent found. Keep up the great work Nathan
