No, but you do need to create a file.
Press the New button and choose a name.

Still no luck. I can now import it but I cannot see a map when I go to the map tab, just a whit screen. I copyed a GPX file from my PC that I have been using to my PPC.
So what am I doing wrong.

A GPX import will bring in a number of waypoints.
The easiest way to verify that they have been imported is to go to the List tab and press the Waypoints button. You can choose a point and center on it or edit it.
Once you've centered on one, it is easy to get map images around it, since the map download will default to the center of the map screen.
If they do not show up in the list, send me the GPX file, and I'll see if there is something going wrong with it.
