I tried to download portions of China... no worky.

im thinking this only works in the US and you may have covered this somewhere, but Im very lazy and appreciate instant gratification.

any chance I can use this in the surrounding areas of Beijing???

You are correct. It will not work in China.

thanks... great program! ive actually been playing with it before asking more questions.

is there a faster way to download?

my detail level starts out at 4m then when I go to adjust it, it goes from either 1/4 or 64m... Huh

I started a 5mile by 10 mile region at 9:00 this am and its not even half way done yet... very fast connection to the internet (work... shhhh)...

Yes, most who have used the Desktop app have considered it faster.

You need to drag the item on that slider.

If you did select 1/4m, don't expect a little map. Expect something on the order of 400 Megabytes. Those images are highly detailed, but that doesn't come without a cost.

now I keep getting an operation timed out error...

is the alot of traffic on terraserver with Google earth and everything using it??? is it better to start it late at night, maybe? thinking out loud here.

I did switch to the desktop version, btw... it seems better, but I get errors downloading in CO and UT.
