A few days ago, I purchased another activation ($30) for my iPaq 3970 (this device will remain in my motorhome). Oddly, the site didn't prompt for any hardware ID, it just took my payment and gave me an activation code.

I confirmed Internet connection to the PDA (via tether Bluetooth to my phone, I could browse a website and POP3 mail, etc).

Trying to Activate, it hesitates for a moment then comes back with a message "Unable to activate this software at the present time. Please try again later. NullReferenceException."

Any assistance appreciated.

Oh, the hardware ID is:

Hi.

The software will send the hardware key during activation.

Connectivity doesn't appear to be the issue. Can you email the BcNav2log.txt (in \My Documents directory on the Pocket PC)?

I'll check the server logs to see if there are any issues there.

Reviewing the log, it reads as though its not getting an Internet connection; however just before I hit ACTIVATE, I launched my email application and it pulled mail just fine.

Here's a test.

Try typing www.crittermap.com into the browser on the device. If it succeeds, try the activation again.
