For those still struggling with the Tilt and Windows Mobile 6.1, Nathan has a new download available that got mine running.  Still a bit of learning required on my part, but it now downloads maps and all the functions seem to be working just fine!

Good on ya Nathan!

I am glad that the update has been helpful for Pat. I have made it available as version 2.6.7.

It may be needed for all devices with Windows Mobile 6.1.

Still no luck here, what were your settings? I've even tried turning off the timeout warning and nothing. I get a GPS date of 2001, and what looks like satellites on the tracking screen, but the app says it's not tracking any satellites. The program port is set to COM4, and the manage checkbox is checked. I'm using the 1.64 radio and WM6.1. Google maps pulls up a reading immediately.  Cry

IF the program port is set to Com4, try COM4 with 9600 baud as the settings in BackCountry Navigator. Alternately, try doing a detect and then a connect. Detect should find "Shared NMEA device".

I have a T-Mobile MDA running WM6.1 and am not having much luck trying the trial backcountry navigator.  Undecided  I installed the software fine, but when I run the program, I see a spinning icon for a few seconds and then it quickly goes away.  I saw this thread with backcountry navigator running on a WM6.1 tilt but couldn't find the indicated version recommended.  I'm assuming the latest version runs on WM6.1?  Any tips would be greatly appreciated.  BTW, I'm currently running Garmin XT map software using my Holux 1200 bluetooth gps receiver.  This handles my road navigation fine but I need geocaching/iso map info while offroad  Grin
Thanks!

I'm happy that it worked. But sad because we may never know why it didn't before.

To be fair, the WM6.1 I'm running on my phone is officially not supported by T-Mobile (WM5.0 is highest they provide).  The outstanding folks at xda developers (http://forum.xda-developers.com) cook their own custom roms for WM6.1 and provide them to folks like me with older hardware/phones.  Roll Eyes  As far as I could determine, it really only took one reset once I had both the .NET runtime and backcountry nav installed successfully.  I finally figured out I had to use the "copy to PDA and run" installation method due to the PC based exe installer installing to PDA main memory, not storage card, causing PDA to run out of memory during BCN install portion every time.  But BCN starts everytime without a hitch now that everything is installed and happy.  I'm eager to go outside and test it with GPS signal + maps!  Cheesy  But then I'm stuck at work until then.   Cry
