There is a track displayed on a map I use frequently. I have recorded other tracks and cleared them, but this “persistent” track won’t clear.

What’s going on and how do I clear it short of deleting my map?

If you use the menu item Action->List->Tracks, it will list the tracks that are in your current file.

You can choose one to Edit or Delete. If you Edit, you can change the color, name, or make invisible.

If this doesn't resolve it, please post about your experience.

What Action menu are you refering to?

To clear tracks it is.. GPS > Track > Clear

But it don't! Like I said it will clear other tracks that are displayed, but not this "persistent" track.

GPS->Track->Clear will only the track that is currently being recorded, as you've noticed.

Recent versions of the product have two top level menus - Program and Action. See this page:

If you haven't updated since December 2007, it will look different. Go to the list page, choose Tracks in the drop down menu, and push Load. You will find the lists of Tracks there to Edit or Delete.

Thanks Nathan that worked.

Apparently I don’t understand where/how tracks are stored. Are they stored in the map file itself?

Then what would I need to do to give a track from my map to another BCN user for them to use on thier map?

You would need to export the file as GPX and have the friend to import GPX into their map.
