This comes up on occasion.

Answer: When no datafile is loaded, you can't do much of anything interesting. Go to the Data Tab. Press New... to create a new file or Open... to open an existing one.

The New and Open buttons are important.

Question What about putting files on my storage card?
Answer: Choose your storage card in locations when you create the file.
