Is there something you could do to facilitate easier identification of overlapping downloaded map sections?

Like a drawing box....to download the area you want.... or just to identify the coordinates for the center point of the map section you want.

As it is..... I'm having to guess on where to center my next map section.....so I don't have all that overlapping area that is just wasted storage space.

Also. Should tracks that cross 2 different map sections show up on the list tab for both maps?  They don't on mine. Or Waypoints for that matter.  Just wondering.

This is SOOOOOO much better than my DeLorme Topo 6.0

Thanks! And keep up the good work

I'm actively working on the box drawing for map downloads. The motivation for that is as you described: while it is cool to be able to download an irregularly shaped map, it is very hard to figure out how to get it right.

We are doing this in conjuction with some other major revamping in the map download area. I can't now say exactly when it will be ready. I want to use it to plan a 50 mile kayak trip I'm taking in August, so I am hoping for soon.

In regards to your other question. A map datafile is self contained, containing maps, waypoints, and tracks together. So tracks and waypoints won't show up for another map. You can export and import them if need be.
