The fix / strength indicator is still a good idea, but I discovered what caused me to think I needed it. Apparently the SiRF chipset in my PocketPC had the 'static navigation' feature enabled. That feature (when enabled) causes the GPS location to 'freeze' when the unit detects velocity below 3 meters/second and reported location within a set radius. Perhaps ideal for vehicular GPS use, but very much less than ideal for GeoCaching.

http://w5.nuinternet.com/s660100031/SirfTech.htm ) to change the setting on my Pocket PC. Now I get all the updates, even when I'm walking slowy.
