Canada Topo Maps for Android

Canada Topo Maps are available for Android! Canadian topographic maps for Canada can be viewed and used as offline maps for Android using the BackCountry Navigator GPS software. 

BackCountry Navigator gives you a choice of topo maps, also known as topographical maps, for use in outdoor recreation such as hiking, backpacking, and snowshoeing.

These are maps from the Natural Resources of Canada. These maps contain over 16 layers of information including topography, vegetation, and features names, and structures. This is an example of the same general area from Natural Resources Canada Topo Maps:

This map source can be used as a preview layer, or used as offline maps on Android by specifying a rectangle for download.

Special thanks to beta tester Thierry D. of Canada. Early on, he helped track down a bug where the Canada Topo maps were not appearing properly within French Speaking Canada. 

Thierry is someone who someone who goes on a hike just about every weekend, either on foot or on snowshoes, so he can appreciate an app that uses topo maps.  We appreciated having him as a beta tester.
