Direct download for geocache.com?

By fooo - Posted on 27 January 2008

Is it planned to directly download geocache.com caches instead of having to copy them over (or download them in a browser ont he device)? I hear geoscout does this now.

This + geoscout + BeeLineGPS would be ideal.:) Geoscout with the autodownload of geocache, beelinegps with its management of them + great trip computer for analyzes tracks (ascent graph, etc) and this for the automatic teramaps and general ease of use.

I am all in favor of it. In the past, geocaching.com has not wanted to support this. However, if GeoScout is doing, there must be a way, so I'll try to find out.

Here is how I get my downloads from geocache.com; using the new pocket query, I have it sent to my gmail, which I can check on my PPC 6700 via the internet. I have to change to html view, but then I can download the file into the location, and then launch BCN and import.

I always download into GSAK first.

Oh, and keep in mind that the primary function of Geoscout is as a geocaching program.  It is the best for managing geocaches.  The primary function of Beeline is as a GPS management program; it is the one with all the pretty GPS maps and graphs.  The primary function of BCN is as map viewing software.  Most of the BCN programing time goes into the primary function, which is making the downloading and viewing of map tiles more efficient.
