emulate windows mobile on desktop

By koenvangassen - Posted on 18 August 2007

Hi all,

I found out a very nice way to test out aps like backcountry navigator on your desktop.

Microsoft has actually an emulation version of windows mobile, which has all the functions of a normal pda. Also handy to download maps on your pc instead of on your pda. I tried it and it works great, although the downloads aren't going faster... i guess that the terraserver is the bottleneck.
Some information can be found here; http://www.amset.info/pocketpc/emulator.asp

needs some help here too I can't download map on my mobile I want to download so that wherever I will go in amerika I know where I am ope you will give me some help.

This was an interesting discussion a year ago.

But today, I'm not sure why you wouldn't use BackCountry Desktop Edition. The downloads do go much faster on that.

Emulators are not known for being speed demons.
