GPX files
Hi Nathan,
Droidx user and I just purchased the license after trying the demo for a little bit. I have a couple of issues and questions about importing GPX files.
I tried importing several GPX files that I created from DeLorme Topo 6.0 of some private property that a group of us use for recreation. I was able to import two files into the default trip file that were created from Track data and they show up fine and in the right location. files sizes are 344 kb and 40 kb.
I have two GPX files containing waypoints with similar names (ie xxx1 and xxx2). It seemed as if the import process was working for both but only one file showed up one the map. I tried renaming the file that didn't show but that didn't make a difference. I also reloaded the file that didn't work from my PC onto the SD card and tried to import it into BCN, after that none of the waypoints showed on the map including the file that did work. Waypoint files sizes are 1.7 kb and 7.9 kb. I also deleted both files from the SD card and reloaded them... same result, neither worked.
The track files are still showing up.
I am doing this offline as I am not in the area of the data.
Wondering if you have any ideas about the trouble I'm having.
Is there a way to delete these files from BCN?
Are these files manageable, for instance turn on turn off?
Also when the waypoints were showing up they showed as question marks, can they be edited?
Thanks.

Not all GPX files are created equal, so there is always the chance that some are nto getting through because of particular formatting. You can email some .gpx files to support
Earlier, someone sent me some files that didn't seem to work for them but then they worked for me just fine. ;(.
I'm working on the next update that should do a better job of centering on trip files.
Trip files are stored under /sdcard/bcnav/data/*.bcn, so you can always delete things from there, although you can't do it from the menu at present.
One thing to note: If there are too many waypoints on screen, you may only see tiny pink dots until you zoom in to where there are less than 120 on screen.
Thanks Nathan,
Maybe I never noticed the pink dots but I just launched BCN and after zooming in everything is there. Not counting the track files I think I have around thirty way points.
Is there now, or will there be a way to edit imported waypoint names? Right now all I have is a question mark in a circle.
Steve, the "question mark in a circle" is just the icon for the new waypoint. You can change the icon, but the selection is limited.
You should be able to edit the waypoint name and description, too.
