HTC Imagio

I cant seem to get the GPS on the Imagio (winmo 6.5). Is this supported? It works fine with Google Maps

Based on some information I can find, Verizon has stopped locking the GPS, but has still made it tricky to turn on for any applications but their own. Google Maps may be using cell towers for location and not satellites, or they may (less likely) be on Verizon's approved list.

This is one of the better links I could find for enabling GPS on HTC Imagio.

Let us know if that helps. Any other Verizon devices may have something similar.

Thanks for the quick response. I tied the link but my GPS was already enabled.

I do believe Google Maps uses GPS because when I deselect GPS it gives 2000 meters accuracy, but when I select GPS and go outside it is accurate to within 100 feet or so.

When I do try "detect" it finds the Shared GPS Device (Qualcomm GpsOne), but when I try to connect nothing happens. Same when I choose COM4 and 4800 baud, which is the software port used by the HTC GPS.

I even tried the GPSDiagCab.cab diagnostic program (had the log sent). It seemed to get hung up on testing the GPID until I canceled.

The other suggestion I've seen is to download some satellite data with QuickGPS. Start->All Programs->Scroll down to QuickGPS.

I'm hoping someone else who actually has the device will chime in.
