Import from desktop
Hey, I haven't tried yet but don't want to waste my time. Can I download a map on my desktop and simply paste it on my memory card and use for my PDA? It takes a long time to use the PDA for all the downloads and it kills my battery. I'm a beginner but want to make sure this program is for me before purchasing it. By the way I LOVE IT so far!

Yes.
Use BackCountry Navigator desktop and simply copy the .db3 file as any other file.
Ive tried this many times, and the files Ive downloaded with my PDA wont work on my desktop.. why..?
What isn't working? Are you getting an error message?
no error msg... it crashed once when i double clicked a map file to open it, ever since then , I ve had to download with desktop to view with desktop... reinstalled several times.
my tracks still show up though, so I made a rectangel around them and "download maps" but the data wasnt even close... different region
I've been able to transfer files back and forth many times.
If you a file with this behavior that isn't too large, could you email it to support?
what is too big?
my apologies for the slow response.
A few megs or less would help, because ISPs tend to strip of attachments larger than 5 megs.
