I am new to BCN. I have the trial version.
How do I input Lat-Long of a place and save it as a waypoint?
Currently i put in the coord into the search bar, and it says it cannot find the location.

Press and hold on the screen is a technique often overlooked. The example here is defining a waypoint based on a map position. If you know the coordinates, though, the technique is the same, and you just need to edit the position.
Make sure you've named your trip file first.
