Limit to the number of tiles to download?
I am trying to build a map of the entire state of Nevada, using the desktop version. I am pulling detail level 1/4 M, just topos, no ariel or urban. I have been playing around with the "Draw Rectangles" in the "select" menu. But when I draw a large area it reports 0/0 tiles, download complete. If I draw a smaller area it pulls the tiles need. Is there a limit to the number of tiles that can be downlaoded? If so, would it be better to put a dialog in that says you exceeded that limit so the user doesn't think his software is broken? I keep seeing posts that report the trial version stopped downloading and I just wonder if these users are playing with BIG downloads.
So what is the limit? Translated into square miles at 1/4 M? If I knew the limit I could draw those rectangles to that size and get this project complete faster.
Thanks for any help.

You may have given me the right clues to track this down.
There is not an arbitrary limit built in. However, I believe what you are experiencing is due to a large rectangle that crosses a UTM boundary. Terraserver is returning something that doesn't make sense in that case.
If I am correct in my theory what you are seeing is when you are crossing Longitude of 114 West.
This is fixable if we change our calculations. I will be trying some things to track it down.

If that is the case, I'll try downloading half in one rectangle and then the other half in another rectangle. It's downloading now and I don't want to interupt it. WIll try later.
Thanks,
Nate
Was able to draw a rectangle around the entire bottom half of the state and download all tiles needed. So you're right...it is definately a problem with 114.
