opening downloaded map files
I have BCN installed on my verizon xv6900. The map files download fine, and initially open fine. If I close down BCN, and then reopen it later, when I try to open the downloaded map files, I get a blank white screen. The distance bar at the top of the screen shows the correct distance I was viewing before I closed BCN, but the screen stays white. If I redownload the same map, i get an "already downloaded" messge, and it then opens fine. HELP!!! :'( :'(

It's possible some steps are out of sequence, but I don't know enough yet. What does the "already downloaded" message look like?
There is no message.

OK, I thought there was one when you said:

no follow up on problem: what ever happened on this problem?????
While rkling didn't post a followup here, I believe it was resolved based on our email conversation. If you have similar questions let me know.
I have this problem with a new map I downloaded. I just get a screen that looks like a bunch of white sand dunes. I had the problem a long time ago and finally got the map to display, but I don't remember what I to get it to display correctly. My prior topo maps still display correctly.
I have redownloaded this new map several times. The last time I included the aerial layer and that displays, but not the topo view.
The steps I go thru are to create a new map. Find a place. Download the map. Open a new map. I just installed v 2.7.8. What am I doing wrong?
White sand dunes are returned by Terraserver when there isn't data. What is the location? I will look into it further.
It sounds like a chronic problem. It could be out of range or have some problems at Terraserver. For these steps:
Open a new mapsScratch the last one. You should not "open a new map" after downloading a map. A new map is always empty. After a download, it has data.
