PCT Maps

By sdansley - Posted on 14 June 2008

I'm leaving soon for my hike on the PCT & I was wondering if anyone has any maps of the PCT.  I saw a CDT & Appalachian ones.

Thanks,
Sean

Trimble Outdoors has a lot of good GPX files by section. Also, you can search the web with keywords Pacific Crest Trail gpx.

GPX files will give you waypoints and/or tracks which is the most important. The quickest way to add maps is defining boxes using Backcountry Navigator desktop. Let me know how it goes, because we want to make sure that BCN works well for long distances.

Hi there, I am planning a 2011 PCT thru hike as well and I am taking my phone as communication and pictures to family. To charge the phone i am using solar. I am taking a seperate GPS (garmin 60csx) and maps, so i am going to give this a shot as well. some of my concernes are the gps reception without cell reception. This software seems more flexible then even my gps. I am having troubles loading all the waypoints in my gps, and from what i have read the software will read unlimited amounts from the file, You can go to www.pctmap.net to get waypoints and tracks to follow (a must IMHO for worry free navigation for the sierras).

hopefully this helps you somewhat, and I hope to see you during the thru hike season.

Phones *should* be able to get good reception. That said, the phone manufacturers have managed to screw that up in some instances. What phone is it? We'll start there.
