tracking display on ppc vs pc

By andye - Posted on 24 November 2007

I can't seem to get the pocket pc to display tracking the same way as the PC.

With tracking enabled and moving about on the PC, the (by default) the blue line is apparent from the track.

When tracking on the pocket pc, I don't get the blue track lines until I save-list-load load them.

I prefer the pc behavior as when I'm hiking new territory it's nice to know that familiar trail *is* the one I was on previously, instantaneously. Is that the intended behavior? I check my track color (etc.) and I can't seem to figure it out.

iPaq hx2795 with Qstarz BT-Q1000 - 11 satellites tracked 9 fixed in my rural NH window.

I'm having a great time with the software though, this is my first gps. Thanks for your work on this, it is an impressive effort.

Nathan, I am having the same problem with my Ipaq hw6945. When click on the track command, before with 2.5.3 you would get the blue tracking line as you walked or drove. Now, you also have to click on the save command to get the track. Like the color track line as you move. Have a great evening

Small requests: maybe a "view - track" option. Perhaps a timestamp on the name of the track by default or an option to name to help identify in case there are several. I can of course edit each in the list of tracks. Last, per-track coloration for multiple trails tracked. Would look cool. These are pretty low priority of course. Very useful and complete as-is!

Thanks again, Andy

Update: Duh! I can do all this already from the List tab! I am new to BCN and just needed to  dig around a little more.

Thanks for spotting this so quickly. It is indeed something that broke between 2.5.3 and 2.5.4. It should return to normal in the next revision.

Thanks for the quick reply, I will watch for releases.

Wondering Nathan are going to have that fix anytime soon???? ;D

Due to the amount of changes, I'll have to do some field testing, but hope to have it for you all by this weekend.

Version 2.5.5 has the fix.

Works great! Thanks, Nathan. Animated, too.
